With almost 35 years of experience in Bariatric Surgery, Oncology, Healthcare Information Technology (HIT), Minimally Invasive Procedures, and Laparoscopy, Dr. Neelamekam is one of the most skilled doctors in Chennai, offering expert treatment with knowledge of advanced surgery equipment specializing in modern surgery . He was the first to conduct successful Liver Transplants in India. Dr. Neelamekam is the pioneer in Gastric surgery, Liver, Pancreas and Biliary Tract Surgery, Bariatrics, Metabolic surgery and is very much experienced with complex liver and pancreas surgeries.
He is a member of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) and Indian Association of Gastroenterology (ISG). He is currently the Adjunct Professor of TN MGR Medical University and Head of the Department of Surgery, Gastro & Minimal Access Surgery at Fortis Malar Hospitals, Chennai.
